Recipe - Fajita Seasoning Mix
This recipe makes the equivalent of three commercial fajita seasoning packets (like Old El Paso). I like to have it in the pantry and have found many uses for it besides just fajitas.
Fajita Seasoning Mix
Ingredients
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Procedure
Combine all the ingredients and store in a small glass or plastic airtight container. Keep in a cool, dry place. To use, measure as follows:
3 tablespoons seasoning mix
1/3 cup water
Combine and add to sauteed meat, onions and peppers. Simmer about 5 minutes.
