Recipe - Mild (Sweet) Curry Powder
All credit for this recipe goes to Adrienne at Whole New Mom, who posted it in 2011. Don't get me wrong, I'm the first person to grab the McCormick Curry Powder off the shelf whenever a recipe calls for it. This one, however, has so much more depth to it. I keep a container of it in the pantry because we use LOTS of curry in our house.
Mild (Sweet) Curry Powder
Ingredients
(use ground herbs and spices)
3 teaspoons turmeric
2 teaspoons coriander
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
3/4 teaspoon yellow mustard
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon fenugreek (also called methi or helba)
1/2 teaspoon cardamom
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Procedure
Mix ingredients thoroughly in a bowl or zipper-lock bag. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
